Dating Safety Center
Practical guidance for safer online dating, communication, reporting and in-person meetings.
1. Start with privacy
Keep your home address, workplace details, financial information, passwords, one-time codes, identity numbers and other unnecessary sensitive information private. Be cautious when moving conversations away from CHICHA.
2. Romance-scam warning signs
- Requests for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, loans, investments or financial help.
- Claims of emergencies combined with pressure to act quickly.
- Requests to receive or transfer money on someone else’s behalf.
- Pressure to share banking details, verification codes, passwords or identity documents.
- Repeated excuses for avoiding ordinary verification or safe meetings.
3. Meeting in person
- Meet in a public, populated place for early dates.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Arrange your own transport and keep control of your phone and belongings.
- Do not rely on a date for access to money, medication, transport or accommodation.
- Leave whenever you feel uncomfortable. You do not owe anyone continued contact.
4. Consent and boundaries
Consent must be voluntary, informed, specific and ongoing. A match, message, date, previous intimacy, gift or payment never creates an obligation to sexual or romantic activity. Respect a “no”, a change of mind, silence, uncertainty or withdrawal.
5. Protecting intimate content
Think carefully before sharing intimate images or videos. Never share another person’s intimate content without their explicit permission. Threats to publish intimate content, sexual extortion and coercion should be reported to the relevant platform and, where appropriate, local authorities.
6. Verification
A verification badge or approved video can add confidence that submitted material was reviewed, but it is not a criminal-background check and cannot guarantee a person’s intentions or future behaviour.
7. Block and report
Use blocking when you do not want further contact. Use reporting for suspected scams, harassment, threats, impersonation, underage users, coercion, hate, unsafe behaviour or serious Terms violations. Provide concise factual information and relevant evidence where safe to do so.
8. Underage users
CHICHA is 18+ only. If you believe a member is under 18, stop interacting and report the profile immediately.
9. Account security
Use a unique password if you use email/password login, protect your email account, do not share verification codes, and sign out on shared devices. Treat unexpected login or payment messages cautiously.
10. Financial safety
CHICHA members should never need your banking password, PIN, authentication code or remote access to your device. Never send money because someone you met on a dating service pressures you to do so.
11. Harassment and discrimination
CHICHA does not permit targeted harassment, threats, stalking or hateful abuse. Dating preferences do not justify degrading or threatening other members.
12. Support
For non-emergency safety concerns, contact support@chichadating.com and use the in-app reporting tools where available.
